The Old Rock School is presenting a bluegrass concert as part of its 2012-2013 Concert Series.

Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver is headlining. Lawson is an American bluegrass and gospel musician as well as an accomplished mandolin player, vocalist and leader of the 6-man group.

Opening the show is Buncombe Turnpike, a bluegrass and gospel band from Western North Carolina.

Bluegrass music lovers can catch the concert at the Old Rock School Auditorium, located at 400 Main Street West in Valdese, Friday April 19, at 7 p.m.

SALISBURY - The W.G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury will host an educational fair on Friday, April 19, 2013, from 10:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. in the Social Room of Building 6.  

The focus of the education fair will be our Veterans, retired military, family members, and VA staff.  Information on all VA education benefits will be available. The purpose of the event is to inform Veterans and family members of educational opportunities available to them in the community and online, where they can use their GI benefits for education that will assist in acquiring new skills, and will prepare them for the future changing job market.

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV)- Wells Fargo has announced record profits for the 1st quarter of 2013. The bank is also boosting its ATMs.

"This ATM knows your habits and your features and what you do here," says Wells Fargo Area President Leigha Smith. She introduced us today to the bank's high tech new ATMs. She says they're more like a personal assistant than the old money machine we're used to.

"This get-to-know you better ATM really knows our customers," she says. "They get cash, that's the first thing that comes up. If they typically deposit checks or cash that's the first item that comes up, deposit cash."

Sometimes personal greetings even come up.

"That was a little shocking to me," says Wells customer Joe Marshall. "On my birthday, it said ‘Happy Birthday.' And it started the week of my birthday, and I was like how do they know that? But it showed up and I appreciate that."
