State park offers free map and compass class | Events

The South Mountains State Park is offering a map and compass class this weekend.

Participants will be instructed on the use of a map and compass to navigate through the park.

Those interesting in the course should meet at the Jacob Fork Parking Area of the South Mountains State Park, located at 3001 South Mountain Park in Connelly Springs, Saturday January 19, at 2 p.m.

The Park invites you to bring your own compass if you have one.

The cost is free and the park is open to the public.
