The South Mountains State Park is inviting people of all ages to learn about bats this weekend.
Participants can join Ranger David LaPlante in a presentation on the nature of the winged mammals.
The focus of the class is to share the myths and facts surrounding the creatures people sometimes call "flying rats".
Interested nature lovers should meet at the Visitor Center of the South Mountains State Park, located at 3001 South Mountain Park in Connelly Springs, Sunday February 24, at 2 p.m.
The cost is free, and the program is open to the public.
For more information, call the Park at 828-433-4772.
